Blues in Schools - Blues Study Group
October 2018 - May 2019 at Tapestry Charter School, Buffalo, NY
What a great BITS Project!! A BITS 2017-2018 Program with Tas Cru, International Artist, inspired some students to commit and continue their studies in Blues music and performance. Joseph Mahfoud, Music Teacher, approached the Blues Society to take part in the school’s expeditionary learning program for 2018 – 2019 School year. Tas Cru, practicing music professional, mentored a group of high school students, focusing on band performance fundamentals and the Blues historical perspectives. Talk about commitment – the students were at school at 6:30AM every Wednesday and Friday, every week for 9 months, to work on this Blues project. May 6th culminated in a COOL performance of The Blues Study Group for their parents, school staff and peers!
Special thanks to Tas Cru for sharing his talent, music and commitment to the Blues, educating our young adults. Thanks to Joseph Mahfoud, Teacher for his continued dedication to students and Larry King, Education Committee for his support and guidance.
It’s through Membership and Donations that Great Blues Programs INSPIRE!!
